Is Face to Face networking dead?

Updated: Sep 16

Welcome to September 2024!

As techno giants compete to take over the business spaces in local communities is the idea of Face to Face networking dead?

All of the BforB networking clubs these days has one or two tech companies looking to engage, appoint or refresh their supply chain network. One of our local club for example has an amazing HR company and although the tech industry is thriving they are investing massively on their human resources. Line manager training, productivity and efficiency awareness was very popular to the tech attendees.

Computer repairs and recruitment agencies also had seen growth to name a few demonstrting that the process of navigating the demand and shifs in industry delivery incorporating tech has elevated its value. Perhaps, facilitating the movement of skills and people.

Manchester, UK, is home to a thriving tech and digital solutions sector. The city boasts over 10,000 digital and tech businesses, making it one of the largest tech hubs in the UK outside of London. This includes a diverse range of companies from start -ups to SMEs and global giants like Google, Microsoft, and The Hut Group (Invest In Manchester).

Manchester's tech scene is supported by a strong ecosystem, including industry bodies like Manchester Digital, which represents over 400 tech and digital businesses. This community-driven approach helps drive growth, innovation, and inclusivity across the region.

The city has seen significant investment in its tech sector, with Manchester-based companies raising over £532 million in funding in 2022 alone (Invest In Manchester). The area is also known for its advancements in various tech fields such as AI, cybersecurity, eCommerce, and FinTech in Manchester.

Manchester's dynamic and rapidly growing tech landscape makes it an attractive destination for tech businesses and professionals alike.

But companies are looking for the full package. Many SME's in our network are citing the importance of 'personally and professionally' developed entrepreneur for doing business. For example, referrals are most likely to be passed to someone who understands their clients needs and look to build rapport within thier team and can seamlessly integrate in the supply chain compared to businesses who boasts tech skills alone.

Overall, networking trancends the barrier between industries and allow people to remain aware of the merits of the ever changing impact of technolgy in every industry whilst remaining emphathetic and adaptable.

Maintain your edge and keep networking.
